A government school in Agra has set an example which is inspiring. They have come up with an idea of saving water and implementing on it wonderfully. For last 2 years Tedi Bagia Government School in Ambedkar Nagar is harvesting rainwater and have taken a step to fight against the scarcity if water in the area. This is a hats-off step and deserves applaud. You would be surprised to know that teachers and children carry water from school to their homes and are busy in the awareness of water harvesting.
Kusum Gaur, Principal of the school told that area is going through lack of water and everyone was bound to buy water from the tankers. We wanted to work on this problem and efforts of our teachers and students finally made us take a step towards rain water harvesting. Now everyone use water from here and take home as well.
Students of the school are excited about this. A student Priya said that she never thought she will be witnessing such thing in her life. According to Priya, “We are thankful to teachers and other students that we not only learnt a new thing but also learnt to save water and able to convey this very important message to her friends and families.”
A student of this school Aradhana says, “I take water from the school to my home. Its great. Nobody in our village ever thought that saving water this way can be beneficial. People in now learning, which is great for the country. Who else but we are responsible for our and coming generation future.”
